Karen DeJoy, Au.D.

Karen DeJoy, Au.D. received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ithaca College in 1992 and 1993, respectively. She received her Doctoral degree in Audiology from Salus University in 2009. Dr. DeJoy has worked in a variety of settings over the years, including local area hospitals, multiple ENT practices, as well as in private practice. She has significant experience with a variety of populations, ranging from newborn through geriatric, as well as working with consumers from Schenectady ARC and Center for Disability Services. She particularly enjoys working with children at our practice with both diagnostics and amplification and works to advocate with the schools to devise appropriate strategies for success in the classroom.

Dr. DeJoy also works with Veterans Evaluation Services to provide Compensation and Pension examinations to our service members, who are seeking to connect service-related noise exposure to hearing loss and tinnitus. She also has experience with Ototoxic Monitoring, Occupational Audiology/custom noise protection and is also well versed with several hearing aid manufacturers technology levels and styles of amplification, including assistive devices for the hearing impaired.

Personally, she is also a certified yoga instructor, Reiki 2 certified, enjoys rowing/ kayaking, hiking and biking.

Dr. DeJoy works out of our Rensselaer location on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
